Abstract

Research is focused on family tourism and its influence on the current interest and participation of students in tourism and, as a result, on the quality of their lives. The frequency of occurrence and certain conditions or limitations of family tourism practiced in the past by the research subjects have been examined. The results have been juxtaposed with the current level of tourism activity. The forms, types of tourism and methods of its organisation have also been dynamically compared. Qualitative research provides more precision to the results of quantitative research and is concentrated on the perception of elements which improve life quality. Data has been collected using the methods of diagnostic survey and partly structured in-depth interviews. The non-parametric chi-square test and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient have been applied in the statistical analysis. Research has proven that there is statistically significant dependence between travelling with parents in the past and the level and quality of current tourism of academic students.
